Introducing the 2019 Assistants to the Artistic Director

Matthew South - Tenor Section Leader

Matt South (tenor)  will serve as  the Tenor Section Leader for the 2014-2015 season. Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from West Chester University in December of 2011. While at West Chester, he studied voice with world renowned Baritone, Randall Scarlata. As a tenor, Matt's repertoire has ranged from classical to modern. His favorite language to sing in is German and his favorite composer to sing is W.A. Mozart. Matt has performed such great opera roles as Belmonte in Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio, Le Chavalier in Poulenc's Dialogue of the Carmelites, and The Witch in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.  He has performed in the musical theatre medium and served as a vocal music director for over 12 years and is currently teaching grades 6-8 at Charles Boehm Middle School, as well as conducting the 6th Grade Chorus and the Young Men in Harmony ensemble.


David Kimock - Bass Section Leader

David Kimock, earned a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College. As a member of the world-renowned Westminster Choir, he has performed at Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic. In 2015, he was the music director and chorus master for the World Meeting of Families and Papal Masses held in Philadelphia. He has served on the music faculty at the University of Delaware, Westminster Choir College, and Rutgers University. Mr. Kimock is currently the Director of Music and Liturgy at Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Newtown, Pennsylvania.


Kate Haas - Soprano Section Leader

KATE HAAS (soprano section leader) is an elementary vocal music teacher in the Pennsbury School District.  Kate graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2003 and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Cairn University in 2008.  Beginning the in fall of 2008, Kate taught both elementary general music as well as elementary orchestra and string lessons in several elementary schools throughout the Pennsbury School District.  In 2011, Kate settled into her current role as the full-time music teacher at Penn Valley Elementary School.  Kate is also employed as the Kids Ministry Director at Restoration Church in Levittown, PA.
